Back Olivier Giroud to be first goalscorer at 6.00

Arsenal went two goals down before storming to a 5-2 win over Spurs in this fixture last season, with Theo Walcott grabbing a brace to seal the win. However, both sides come into the game off the back of mixed results and will be looking to get back on track.

Arsene Wenger’s side were held at home by Fulham last weekend, despite Olivier Giroud scoring twice and showing signs of settling in the Premier League.

Despite the disappointment of dropping points at home, it was a stark improvement from their dire performance against Manchester United the previous weekend.

Tottenham have fallen to consecutive league defeats for the first time since Andre Villas-Boas took charge of the club, losing to champions Manchester City after being beaten at home by Wigan. The Portuguese tactician will want to stop the rot before it becomes a little more worrying.

Despite that incredible comeback last season, Arsenal have only won one of the last five league meetings, losing three and drawing one. Spurs will be hopeful of continuing that fine run and extend their one point lead over the Gunners.

In injury news, Arsenal look set to welcome back goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny after two months out with an ankle injury, while Jack Wilshere is back from suspension after seeing red at Old Trafford. However, there are still doubts over Bacary Sagna, Giroud, Walcott and Mikel Arteta.

Tottenham must make do without Belgian star Mousa Dembele, but should welcome back the injured trio of Jermain Defoe, Aaron Lennon and Kyle Walker. Emmanuel Adebayor is in line to feature against his old club.
