European Betting Preview: El Clasico, Derby della Madonnina and more…

There is a huge weekend of European football action to look forward to, with another Super Sunday packed with three massive games across Europe. It is El Clasico time in Spain, as Barcelona welcome rivals Real Madrid to the Nou Camp. Elsewhere, it’s the Derby della Madonnina with Milan and Inter clashing at San Siro, while the top two in France do battle as Marseille host PSG.

Barcelona 1.85 | Draw 3.75 | Real Madrid 3.75

It’s the first league meeting between these two Spanish giants this season, after their two-legged Super Cup affair ended with Real Madrid lifting the trophy. Los Blancos pipped their historical rivals to the title last season but have started the season slowly, sitting eight points behind. Barcelona, under the stewardship of Tito Vilanova, have a 100% record in the league after six games, and have won both their Champions League games thus far. Can they inflict defeat on Madrid and race to an eleven point lead? The Catalans are at 1.85 to secure the win at the Nou Camp, with star man Lionel Messi at 4.25 to open the scoring. Can the Argentinian magician bag a hat-trick or more? He’s at 12.00, while his Portuguese foe Cristiano Ronaldo is at 2.10 to get his name on the scoresheet at any time.

Milan 2.50 | Draw 3.20 | Inter 2.75

The Derby della Madonnina has delivered its fair share of goals, drama and tension over the years, and this one promises to be no different. Milan are beginning to show signs of overcoming their tumultuous start to the season, with a mid-week win in Zenit. Inter, with two disappointing home defeats aside, are comfortably placed in third spot in the table, and will be eager to inflict further misery on their Milanese cousins. The Rossoneri just edge the odds, and are favourites at 2.50, in what is their ‘home’ derby of the season. 19-year-old star Stephan El Shaarawy has five goals in his last four games, and the Italian international is at 2.60 to continue his goal-scoring streak.  Meanwhile, former Milan forward Antonio Cassano has had plenty to say since his departure, he’s at 7.50 to open the scoring.

Marseille 3.00 | Draw 3.15 | PSG 2.35

The top two clash in France on Sunday night, as Marseille entertain big spending PSG at the Velodrome. The home side were enjoying a perfect start to the season before last weekend, falling to a heavy defeat at Valenciennes. Their defeat allowed PSG to move within three points, with the Parisians starting to find their feet. After a slow start, Carlo Ancelotti’s men have been impressive in recent weeks, with striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic leading the way. The capital club are favourites at 2.35 to secure all three points, with a close 1-0 win coming in at 6.50. ‘Ibra’ has 7 goals so far this season, it is difficult to look past the big Swede who is at 5.00 to score two or more. Can he lead them to victory and move level with their opponents at the top of the table?
