Serie A Betting Preview

There is mid-week Serie A action to look forward to after the weekend’s drama, with Juventus moving clear at the top of the table. The Bianconeri are first in action as they travel to Florence on Tuesday, with the bulk of the games on Wednesday before Siena and Bologna wrap up the action on Thursday night.

Juventus were the only side to continue their perfect start to the season with their fourth win on Saturday night, however they now face a tough trip to Fiorentina. The two rivals have both looked impressive in the early stages of the campaign, with the Viola focused on avenging their 0-5 defeat in the corresponding fixture last season. Juve are favourites considering they haven’t lost to Fiorentina in the league since 2008, but the draw at 3.20 is potentially a safer bet.

Things didn’t improve for Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri away at Udinese, with the Rossoneri suffering their third defeat of the season. He welcomes old club Cagliari to San Siro on Wednesday night, desperate for three points. Coined ‘San Zero’ after both Milanese clubs have failed to win at home so far this season, this should be a defining game for Milan, with the win at 1.60.

Elsewhere, Napoli host Lazio at the San Paolo, after both sides saw their 100% start to the season ended at the weekend. While Napoli were held to a draw at Catania, their opponents fell to defeat at home against Genoa. Walter Mazzarri’s side have won their last five home games, but have only defeated the capital club once in their last five meetings. The home side are strong favourites at 1.95 to secure the win.

Inter’s home troubles continued with a 2-0 reverse against Siena on Sunday, so the Nerazzurri will be relieved to be back on the road. They have won all four of their last away games in all competitions, and enjoy a great record against Chievo, winning four of their last five meetings. Their inconsistency could be their downfall, but they are at 2.40 to win.

After their game against Cagliari was called off on Sunday, Roma will be eager to get back into action as they welcome Sampdoria to the Stadio Olimpico. The Giallorossi will want to erase memories of their last home game, after having taken a 2-0 lead they conspired to fall to a 3-2 defeat. However, Zdenek Zeman will not waver in his philosophy so expect plenty of goals with Roma to win at 1.70.
